This matters more than it sounds. Video recording and camera analysis are demanding, continuous work. Keeping them on dedicated equipment means your recordings are not affected by anything else happening in the smart home system — and the two can still be integrated where it genuinely benefits you.
Detection
Intelligent detection separates people and vehicles from moving branches, passing headlights and weather, so notifications stay meaningful.
Footage is recorded to a Network Video Recorder within the property, with the retention period chosen to suit the project.
Video doorbells and selected cameras allow you to speak with visitors and deliveries from wherever you are.
Recording equipment can be supported by battery backup so a brief power interruption does not become a gap in your footage.
